Manchester Wheel Up Close, Exchange Square
Details
From the same Exchange Square night shoot as the full-wheel long exposure, this tighter framing moves closer to the structure and looks up through the spokes and support cables. The slow shutter blurs the gondolas into sweeping arcs while the fixed steelwork of the A-frame legs stays relatively sharp. Ghostly pedestrians drift through the foreground, their movement during the long exposure reducing them to translucent silhouettes. The glass façade of the adjacent building, lit purple to the right, adds depth and frames the wheel's geometry against the lit interior beyond.
